Wild Woods Hideaway is a rustic eco-resort on Mink Bay open from May to the end of October. We offer a variety of comfortable, handcrafted accommodations tucked into the boreal forest where our visitors can unplug and be immersed in the natural beauty of the Canadian Shield. On-site opportunities for adventure include kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, fishing, swimming, hiking and two wood-fired saunas while the dawn chorus, sunset views over the lake and starlit campfires all contribute to magic of the experience.

We are a family owned and run business. Kristine and Peter are both prairie kids who fell in love with the Canadian Shield in our university days and decided  a few years into our marriage to buy land near Kenora and create the kind of accommodation we enjoyed; simple and beautiful with a close connection to the forest. It was important to us that we provide a vacation experience that was low-impact for the earth, convenient, affordable and attractive.  We love the way our units blend into the forest and shoreline. Nine of our units have lakeviews, yet  in the summer from a canoe looking towards the camp, most of them are not fully visible. Since moving here we have expanded to a family of four and it's been incredibly special to involve our children in the camp as well. We are hikers and canoeists and being able to be out in the woods almost daily as a family and on the water regularly in the summer is one of our favorite things about Kenora. In the winter we are also big fans of the nordic ski trails at Mount Evergreen.
